Canada's Premier Ski Jumping and Multi-Sport Club
Just like the Olympic Motto "Citius, Altius, Fortius", the Altius Nordic Ski Club strives for its athletes to be "Faster, Higher, Stronger".
The Altius program is geared towards “FUN and FUNDAMENTALS”. Participants are exposed to a broad range of sports and activities and cross training, including each of the Nordic disciplines. A supportive and positive environment is provided for all participants, with an emphasis on participation.
The focus highlights overall physical development, enhances healthy lifestyles and leadership abilities in each participant. It also provides the base and introduces an opportunity for long-term athlete development in the sports of Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined skiing.

Canada’s Ski Jumpers Take Flight Around the World
Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes Shines in Return to International Ski Jumping
RASNOV, Rou.—Olympic medallist, Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes, led a fleet of Canadian men’s and women’s ski jumpers in every FIS competition around the world over the weekend.
Boyd-Clowes made his first return to international ski jumping with a 14th and 16th-place finish in his two competitions over the weekend at the Summer Grand Prix in Rasnov, Romania.
The 2022 Olympic bronze medallist covered distances of 86.5 and 89.5 metres on Saturday. He backed that up with a 16th-place result, reaching distances of 88.0 and 94.5 metres. The lone Canuck in the deep men’s field chalked up the ninth-best jump in the final round.
Two of Canada’s dynamic lady ski jumpers also headed to the top of the 97-metre hill in Romania. Calgary’s Nicole Maurer was solid in back-to-back competitions, finishing 22nd on Saturday and 17th on Sunday. Maurer had one of her best jumps of the summer season in her first attempt on Sunday that landed her in 11th spot after travelling 83.0 metres.
Calgary’s Natalie Eilers also made her return to international competition in more than a year after rehabbing a knee injury. Eilers placed 35th and 31st.
A foursome of Canucks also competed in development competitions in Einsiedeln, Switzerland.
Rayna Leachman posted results of 40th and 34th in the women’s large hill contests. Sofia Aragon was 49th and 50th. Dyllon Crawford was 58th and Benjamin Leachman 68th in the men’s lone event.
Tarik VanWieren also took flight on the Continental Cup circuit in Stams, Austria. VanWieren was 36th on Saturday and 43rd on Sunday.
Ski jumping is performed in the summer on an in-run where the tracks are made from porcelain and the grass on the slope is covered with water-soaked plastic. A core part of an athlete’s development and season-long competition schedule, summer ski jumping began in 1994 for men. Women began jumping competitively during the summer months in 2012.
Ski Jumping Canada is the governing federation for ski jumping in Canada. It is responsible for the governance of all ski jumping competitions in Canada and for the operation of the national team. For more information, please visit skijumpingcanada.com.
